I have just started reading "The Unlocking Season" today. Coincidentally, today I also stumbled across an advertisement for this event at Stratford: https://stratfordsummermusic.ca/event/being-lost-with-tom-allen-and-guests/?fbclid=IwAR0yAxlDAzt2fWTVCVOJM1dyBJ1GosCJyJFRo9D1ixSi-qw3v-RC3430Tq8
It describes how in 1965 the composer John Cage took a group of students to Emma Lake and he wound up lost for 15 hours. First of all I was not familiar with Emma Lake and now I have read about it twice in the same day; secondly I couldn't help wondering if any of Roy's experience in the novel was inspired by John Cage? Also I love your novels!
